Lecture “Management of Protected Areas – Idea and Vision”
Academic course at the University of Klagenfurt regarding the following questions: How does the idea of establishing a protected area (PA) develop? How can it be promoted effectively?
- Advantages, possibilities and chances of an intended PA
- Development, naming and identifying main objectives
- Provision of relevant information in discussing an intended PA
- Building early partnerships, lobbying and gaining promoters
- Identification of relevant stakeholders, partners and social groups
- Institutional analysis
- Identifying and handling typical obstacles in the pre-phase
- Specific instruments (workshop settings, brainstorming techniques etc.)
