Bridges for Birth

The INTERREG project “Bridges for Birth” is the first attempt to establish a sustainable cross-border health care in the Austrian-Slovak border region in the long term. In addition to the expansion of hospital cooperation across the border, which will enable neonatological emergencies to be transported from the state hospital (Landesklinikum) Hainburg to the nearby Children’s University Hospital in Bratislava, future cooperation potentials will be assessed and basic framework conditions for the implementation of cross-border patient care will be elaborated. Thereby, the services of the health care systems can be brought into line with the needs of the local population, thus sustainably improving the quality of life.
